1. Discussion of a Public Reiki Circle 3rd Wednesday Sept 15 – $10 suggested donation for public/nonmembers
2. Unity in the Gold Country: 5 of us participated on Sunday and 7 people received. So far people have donated $15, $25, and $35 to Unity. We can set up September 11, 8-2 at the garage sale and September 12, 2-4pm at the picnic.
3. Evening Circle September 22, 7-9 pm
4. Paint the Town Pink in October 28, 5-8:30 pm at the Fairgrounds.. $150 table space to share with Dragonfly Yoga Massage. Chair Fundraiser.
5. Reiki I Attunement October 1, 7-9, October 2, 10:00am – 5:00pm, $150.00/$125.00 early registration September 15.
6. Invitation to bring Reiki to Willow Creek Campground in Camptonville on Monday September 6. We could have a picnic and meet Katie Mournng.
7. Field trip to Roseville Reiki Circle Friday September 3, leaving Safeway at 5:30 pm.

  • Introductions
  • Membership form & information. Members need to file a copy of their Reiki certificates and contact information.
  • Feel free to sign up on the GCRA Facebook page and make comments. This builds presence. Members can also receive the membership list via email or at a meeting.
  • Direction and Goals: There was a consensus to approve the current Mission Statement: To promote health and wellness through awareness and sharing of Reiki.
  • Discussion to modify “Reiki” and change it to “traditional Reiki” or the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki System of Healing.
    The intent of clarification would be to encourage members who work closer to the original format of the System to maintain integrity of the group. Would a broader definition limit members of a different lineage? We will see how the group develops.

  • We have made progress with Our goals:
    1. To connect and support Gold Country Reiki practitioners through Facebook and meetings. (We have 15 members on the list)
    2. To share testimonials on Facebook to spread awareness of the benefits of Reiki.
    3. To bring Gold Country Reiki practitioners together to give and receive Reiki and Reiki training. (10 meetings to date, 6 public outreach events, Reiki chair protocol)
    4. To bring Gold Country Reiki Masters together to give Reiki attunements. (Animal Reiki, September?)
    5. To support Gold Country Reiki practitioners in the practical aspects of business by teaching and sharing resources. (business cards, brochures, Reiki Bible, forms, techniques, discussions, goal setting)

    1. Thank you to Mary Lynn and Ann for creating our logo. Our banner should be here before the Miners Fair.

  • No Circle on July 28 so members can participate in the Alternative Healing Fair from 2-4:30 pm.
  • We modified our Taste of Reiki chair protocol to

    • Finish with shoulders
  • We shared our personal goals for Reiki. Some of the goals: personal growth, getting more experience, sharing Reiki in the community, developing our individual Reiki practice and teaching.

    9 Reiki practitioners gathered for the first meeting of the GCRA.
    Highlights from the Agenda:
    Introductions: Names and contact information will be listed on the GCRA Facebook page and given to members via email or at a meeting. The desire of everyone present was to give and to receive more Reiki among the group and to learn from each other at this time.
    Direction and Goals: There was a consensus to approve the current Mission Statement:

    Changing the current business/economic paradigm by creating an open free organization to promote our wellness.
    Developing your business card. Possibilities of including the Mission and Goals on a business card.
    Attending Chamber mixers and wearing your business card as a name tag.
    Mary Lynn will ask about designing a business logo in exchange for Reiki sessions.
    Professional Reiki brochures were available at cost.

    Hands on Instruction and Attunements:
    The option is open for Masters to get together and give attunements together.
    The Reiki Bible by Eleanor McKenzie, 2009, is an updated resource. The stress release positions were highlighted.
    We reviewed the basic positions and Linda demonstrated how she begins a session.
    We agreed on a basic format for a group session and everyone had a short time to receive Reiki.

    Next date and place. 10:00 am – Noon, May 12, Wednesdays at Penn Valley Yoga, Dragonfly Studio, 17328 Penn Valley Dr. Suite E Penn Valley. Consensus was to us meet every week for a Reiki Circle with formal meetings once a month, maybe an evening time. We had an offer for another host site, date to be determined.
    We can also attend Reiki Circles at the Reiki Kitchen, Nevada City.
