View large trip on Everytrail.com Today I decided to go on a little walk to Boudha Stupa. I walked through Patan, along the Bagmati River, through Pashupatinath and then got a little lost before finding the stupa. I saw many different faces of the city along the way. After the stupa I took a bus [...] I couldn’t find a simple chart of the United States budget broken down by departments so I made one. The three biggest budget items are the Department of Health and Human Services (medicare), the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Defense. Continue on for the full table and chart. These particular blackberries are from my friends house and I turned them into a pie. I made the filling with not much more than blackberries, ginger, and some sugar. My mom made the crumble topping, and we both collaborated on the crust. [...] After a little over a year on the road I am home again. It feels great to be back but at the same time I feel a little bit like the guy at the end of Hurt Locker when he is in the supermarket with his girlfriend. The tour that I participated in had a larger than usual turnout of around 20 to 30 people and it lasted a little over an hour. I loved the tour because our guide was [...] If you ever wondered what I am eating now that I am living in Germany, here is the answer: Croissant with white chocolate and hazelnut spread (from the Netherlands). And for the drink: hot white chocolate. Yum. I was walking through Hamburg today and saw this California Highway Patrol car and it brought back memories of home. Walking further I happened upon the US Embassy, and in front of it was a memorial for a dead soldier, and then sadness. Yesterday I thought I was back in Patagonia because of the cold wind and rain. I didn’t expect Hamburg to be so cold in summer, but I am beginning to realize that I should always be prepared for anything.
