From the town of Baden-Baden you can sometimes catch glimpses of an old castle ruin on the top of a nearby hill. A little past the Caracalla baths there is an inviting path that compelled me to walk higher and higher up that particular hill until I reached the ruin, the remarkably well preserved [...]  The Rothaus brewery in Germany’s Black Forest is a must visit. Unfortunately the day photos were not too exciting because it was so gray but at night the lights were very beautiful. When I found out that St Jacobi has guided tours of the organ every Thursday I had to check it out. The tour that I participated in had a larger than usual turnout of around 20 to 30 people and it lasted a little over an hour. I loved the tour because our guide [...] With the clouds, rain, and cold wind it may not seem like summer in Hamburg, but that doesn’t stop the annual “organ summer” concerts at St. Jacobi and St. Peter’s. I like organ and I used to play for my church when I was a kid, so I went to see Ernst-Ulrich von Kameke [...] This year I have had pretty good luck being in the right place at the right time. The international tango competition in Buenos Aires, new years eve in Sydney, Songkran in Bangkok, and now La Fête Nationale (Bastille Day) in Paris. It’s amazing because I didn’t really plan any of these events specifically; they [...] Travemünde sounds to me like Travel mundo, and that’s exactly what I have been doing in the last year! A few friends stopped by Hamburg and we went on a Hamburg harbor tour, visited the Hamburg flea and fish markets, and then took a train north east to Travemünde and the sea. Check out the [...] If you ever wondered what I am eating now that I am living in Germany, here is the answer: Croissant with white chocolate and hazelnut spread (from the Netherlands). And for the drink: hot white chocolate. Yum. Last weekend I visited Leeuwarden and Harlingen in the Netherlands. I love the little brick buildings with huge windows and the canals filled with boats.
