I was very lucky to get a campsite at Half Moon Bay State Beach with my friends for Memorial Day weekend. Campsite number six was the last one available when we checked online a few months ago. I’ve never been camping there before but it was a great place to spend the weekend. I was afraid that it would not be very fun because from the satellite view the campground looks like an RV park but it turned out to be ok for tents too. Site six is in the row furthest from the sea and I recommend a site in that back row if you are tent camping because there are more trees for wind protection. I don’t think there are any trees in the first or middle rows. From the campground it is just a short drive to Main St to walk around the little town or a few miles up the coast you can find the harbor for some good fresh seafood like delicious fish tacos and beer at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company.
