Nestor Kirchner, the previous president of Argentina and the husband of the current president of Argentina, passed away while we were in Uruguay. We missed the funeral, but we did experience a lot of traffic from his cortège when we returned to Buenos Aires on Friday. It is an interesting time to be in Argentina because they put up a lot of Kirchner posters and yesterday in the super market they were playing “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and people were singing along.
Update: I went to Plaza de Mayo today and took some photos of the graffiti and rememorabilia.
