This overnight trek made me rethink my backpacking strategy. It was the most intense and difficult trek I have ever done. My typical heavy-bag-power-on-till-the-end-without-taking-a-break strategy ended with me not feeling so hot when I reached the campsite. It was about a 3800 ft ascent in 3.5 hours, and only 2 hours to get down, thanks to my improvised tarp toboggan. You can read more about it and view the gps track on Everytrail.
